Meaghan Adams, PT, PhD (Neuroscience), Registered Physiotherapist
Individuals with prolonged concussion symptoms may experience difficulties in busy environments with several different types of sensory stimuli (noise, light, crowds of people, etc). Subjective report of symptoms alone cannot characterize the underlying dysfunction in sensory processing and integration. The development of objective outcome measures will help improve clinical management of concussion.
Meaghan joins Katie to discuss her on-going concussion research with York University and the Toronto Rehab Institute. As well, she discusses her career path from working on the sidelines to developing a passion for research and teaching the next generation of physiotherapists.
