On my latest podcast I interview Ryan van Asten, the Strength & Conditioning Coach for the Calgary Flames. I ask him about how he trains players, how he trains players who’ve recently had a concussion, and what he’s noticed about concussed players in his experience training athletes.
Ryan’s experience includes three years as Strength & Conditioning Coach for the L.A Kings from 2011 – 2014, a period in which they won two Stanley Cups, and almost four years with the Canadian National Women’s Hockey Team, during which they won the 2010 Olympic Gold Medal.
He’s also a friend from university. In fact, in my ebook, Detour (available here), I mention that I stayed at his place when I was returning to Kingston before my graduation ceremony and before my cross-Canada bike trip.
