Episode 8 of Concussion Talk Podcast is about the upcoming ski season, and my podcast guest is Sally Francklyn. Sally is from Colorado Springs and used to work at Ski Magazine, which included travel to New Zealand, Chile, and British Columbia. She was also a ski patroller at Copper Mountain in Colorado. She talks about where to ski, what to remember before you head out, what to watch for, as well as her favourite places to ski.
Our chat begins with Sally talking about her remarkable story. She moved to Jackson Hole, Wyoming in January 2012 to work at Denny, ink, a public relations firm for some ski-industry clients, like Nordica and Arc’teryx.  Two months later, Saturday, March 24, she was backcountry skiing with friends, caught an edge as she dropped into a couloir, couldn’t stop, tumbled 800 feet before a rock stopped her fall and shattered her helmet. She has a traumatic brain injury and an incredible story.
In the podcast I gave the expanded name for the acronym M.I.P.S. as “Multi-directional Impact System”, but you may notice that the letter P is missing. I should have said “Multi-directional Impact Protection System”.
