Things are going well! I spoke at the NL Wellness Expo in St. John’s in September. I’ll be speaking at the Miller Centre (Rehab Hospital) in November, and I’ll be going to Halifax and will speak at PT Matters at Dalhousie University School of Physiotherapy also in November!
There are two very interesting podcasts coming up as well! I will be talking to Enrico Quilico, from Montreal who began triathlon and Ironman triathlon training after his brain injury to raise brain injury awareness and to promote the benefits of exercise after brain injury. I will also be doing a podcast with professional rugby player with French rugby union club Oyannax and Rugby Canada Men’s National Team Captain Jamie Cudmore. After a series of concussions in 2015 and seeing the symptoms including fatigue, headaches, insomnia, restlessness, depression and anger, Jamie’s wife Jennifer and he decided that something needed to be done to provide more assistance to rugby players who have had a concussion. They developed the Rugby Safety Network, which Jamie Cudmore will discuss on Concussion Talk Podcast.
It’s really great to be able to talk to all of these amazing people, with incredible and different experiences! That’s why I like doing, and learning from, the podcast. Concussion Talk blog and Concussion Talk Podcast podcast, also allow me, not only to share my experience and some thoughts, but more importantly, to hear other people’s experiences and thoughts and to share those as well. I know that my next couple of podcast guests, and my next couple of speaking engagements, will provide plenty of fodder for future posts.
